Life in Canberra is fantastic, thrilling, and gorgeous. However, it is not just people who can have adventures in town. The community is extremely pet-friendly, making it easy to go out with dogs.

There are so many things to do together around town, so I've compiled a small list of my very favourite dog-friendly sites in Canberra so you two can go on adventures together!

Cafes

Stella's By The Lake

Stella's By The Lake is a dog-friendly cafe in Canberra that is well-known for its great atmosphere and delicious food. The café provides amenities such as grass mats, water dishes, and dog treats, making it popular with both locals and dogs.

Yarralumla Gallery and the Oaks Brasserie

Yarralumla Gallery and the Oaks Brasserie in Canberra is not just an excellent dog-friendly café, but it's also one of my favourite spots to take beautiful images of our pets. Its picturesque setting provides a unique combination of art, culture, and tasty meals.

Hotels

Mercure Canberra

Mercure Canberra, originally known as Hotel Ainslie, has been an integral part of Canberra's history since it opened in 1927. This renowned hotel plays an important role in the city's growth and communal identity. They accept pets, making it a dog-friendly location for travellers looking for an all-inclusive experience.

Ovolo Nishi

Ovolo Nishi is a luxury boutique hotel in Canberra, known for its stunning design and great hospitality. What distinguishes this hotel is its commitment to being dog-friendly, enabling visitors to bring their canine companions for a genuinely inclusive experience.

Markets

Haig Park Markets

Haig Park Markets is a lively gathering of farmers, foodies, and artists, nestled in a gorgeous environment where pets are always welcome. The markets are a multicultural affair, offering a broad assortment of produce and specialty items, as well as eats from all over the world.

There's also an agility course for dog at Haig Park and usually have a Haig Park Paw Party once a month on Sundays.

Little Burley Markets

Little Burley Market provides an excellent Saturday break by the river, combining great cuisine, handcrafted items, and breathtaking views. As a dog-friendly venue, it encourages canine companions to join in the excitement.

Groomer and Day Care

Central Bark Pet Styling

Central Bark recognises the value of the relationship between owners and their dogs. They make an effort to provide a loving and nurturing atmosphere where pets receive the most attention and affection. Their professional groomers prioritise each dog's well-being and comfort, ensuring they leave feeling pampered and satisfied.

They have a day care facilities too and day care is included with all grooming services. Dogs play in a size and age appropriate, secure area and are fully supervised.

The Waggington

The Waggington in Canberra is more than simply a pet care facility; it's like a second home for your dog. They are committed to keeping tails wagging, provide a joyful and sociable atmosphere so that pets may thrive. From making friends to engaging in enriching activities, dogs at The Waggington gain confidence and enjoyment.

Like Central Bark, they also have a day care facilities.

I've only just barely touched on some of the great pet businesses and dog friendly locations in Canberra. I'd love to know where you're favourite place in Canberra to take your dog to.

Plus if you're keen on getting your pet photographed in stunning outdoor Canberra locations, let's have a chat and book in a consultation appointment so we can make your vision come true!
