Choosing the right location in Canberra for your pet photography experience

When it comes to capturing the perfect memories of your pets, choosing the right location for your pet photography session can make all the difference. In Canberra, there are many beautiful and unique spots that are perfect for pet photography, but it can be difficult to know where to start. Here are some tips to help you choose the right location for your pet photography session with Ina J Photography.

1. Think About Your Pet's Personality

When choosing a location, it's important to consider your pet's personality. For example, if your pet is shy and easily frightened, a busy park may not be the best option. On the other hand, if your pet is playful and energetic, a beach or open park may be ideal.

A go-to-location for me where it's quiet and great for dogs who are reactive, anxious or easily distracted is Yarralumla English Garden.

2. Think About the Type of Photos You Want

Another factor to consider when choosing a location is the type of photos you want. Do you want a more natural, outdoorsy feel? If so, a park or a garden may be the way to go. Or perhaps you're looking for a more urban look? Then a cityscape or local landmark may be the best option. Or are you looking for photos with the stunning sky and clouds?

3. Consider the Time of Day

Finally, consider the time of day when choosing your location. If you're looking for soft, golden hour light, you'll want to schedule your session for an hour before sunset. If you prefer bright, bold light, an early morning session may be best.
