Canberra Pet Photographer, Ina J Photography is always on the lookout for friendly, confident, well-trained dogs who can model in commercial photo sessions, special and personal projects. Think your dog is a pup star? Please submit the application below to be added to our dog model database and you'll be  considered for any upcoming opportunities.

What we are looking for:

  • a range of breeds, colours and sizes
  • dogs who are well trained to walk on leash
  • dog and their owners who are willing to be included in the photos

The client is an Australian small business who creates hand designed, stylish and affordable dog accessories which also help dog rescues in need. Their designs are unique and designed by hand, based on places and things that brings them happiness and adventure. 

We'll be holding the photo shoot at an outdoor location selected by Ina J Photography some time in June and July and will include (but not limited to):

  • dog walking on lead with owner blurred in the background
  • dog walking on lead
  • owner holding dog on lead with dog sitting
  • various portraits of your dog featuring collars, halters and leashes
  • a dog carrying a leash 

What's in it for me?

There may or may not be financial compensations but it will differ with each shoot. You may or may not be able to view the images that were taken depending on the usage rights negotiated with the client. However, where it's possible you'll get to see the selected photos. And your dog could have it's chance of fame!

However, as a thank you and your dog you will receive:

  • a complimentary outdoor pet photography session
  • an 8 x 10 inch fine art print valued at $275 and the corresponding web resolution digital image to share with friends and family
  • an opportunity to order additional prints, products and images from your session

Eligibility Criteria

Dogs of all breeds, sizes and colours are welcome to apply.

Application will be assessed on case-by-case basis as opportunities come up.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR DOGS

Your dog must:

  • be over 3 months and fully vaccinated
  • have basic training - bare minimum of sit and down/drop - those who are able to do advanced commands and training are highly regarded
  • be able to sit, down/drop or stand with distractions and in new environments
  • have great leash manners and does not pull, lunge or bite on leash
  • be calm and confident and is not anxious or scared around new, unfamiliar (and potentially noisy) environment and people
  • be able to focus easily in unfamiliar and new environments and with distractions around
  • not have any epilepsy or seizures (as I may use off camera flash during the shoot)
  • be generally relaxed and happy around other dogs and have no history of biting, attacking or aggressive behaviour towards dogs or people

 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR OWNERS

You must:

  • be located in Canberra and surrounding region (within 30km of Canberra) 
  • be willing to travel to selected shoot location
  • be willing to sign a commercial model and property release and copyright agreement for your dog, and optionally for yourself for photos requiring owners to be included in photos
  • be able and willing to handle and direct your dog for the whole duration of the photo shoot
  • be available at the selected photo shoot date and time
  • understand that even if your dog is selected to participate in a shoot, there is no guarantee that your dog will be included in the final images
