Dog Photography Autumn Sessions

Autumn is my favourite season - it's nearly tied in the same place as spring. It's my favourite season because in Canberra we get beautiful autumn colours - those beautiful red and orange leafs they're just stunning!!

Here are 3 reasons why autumn sessions are really great for dog photography in Canberra:

  • The vibrant colours of the fallen leaves and the changing colours of the trees, it's just so beautiful!
  • It's the time of year where the temperature is just right, not too hot and not too cold
  • The afternoon light is beautiful!

There's lots of great places for Autumn sessions in Canberra but my favourite place is the Yarralumla English Garden. It's a beautiful place any time throughout the year but it's exceptional in autumn. The fallen leaves and the beautiful colours are always nice in the gardens.

Last year in Autumn 2021 I had a really fun session with Oscar Ewok. Oscar Ewok is such a character, he's a small dog but with a big personality. His mum wanted the beautiful autumn colours and we had fun playing with the autumn leaves as you can see in the photos.

Another fun session I had was with Kumpel the Scnoodle. Here are a couple of photo's from Kumpel's autumn session. This was his second session with me!

It's only 2 days left till Summer ends and we will be entering the autumn season. Usually the best time for autumn session is around mid April when the leaves is at a beautiful colour up to early May. Once it gets to mid/end May the leaves starts going brown and isn't as vibrant. It's great time to book in your autumn session now.

Currently I'm fully booked for sunset session until 15 April but I do have plenty of sunrises sessions available.

Angela - I never see autumn photos from Australia. They're always beach and sunsets (which aren't terrible either). These are great. You really seem to have a knack with the little ones.
