Turning your images into keepsakes

What happens after your fun pet photography session?

So you've just had your outdoor pet photography session with me. As I covered in my previous blog post after your session I would have booked you in for your ordering appointment. This is where I reveal the images we captured at your session.

The image reveal at the ordering appointment

When you come into my viewing lounge you would be able to see the various printed products I have available from wall arts to keepsake album. I believe in the value of printed product and I want you to be able to have beautiful photos of your pets printed and displayed in your home as keepsakes that you can treasured forever.

I start by presenting you with a slideshow of around 40 to 60 images captured at your session. Prior to your ordering appointment I go through all the photos taken and selected the best ones for you to choose from. You would have seen one of the images in this slideshow on my social media as part of the sneak peek from our session.

Once the slideshow is over, we then go through your gallery one by one to select your favourite images. This is usually the most difficult process as most of my clients love all the images. I am there to help you drill down to the final images thinking about how you want to display them and what memories you want of your pets. Note that the images displayed at your ordering appointment have been adjusted for tone and colour correct to suit my style but full photoshop editing has only been applied to the sneak peek image.

The next step is to talk about how you want to display your photos and deciding what kind of keepsakes you want to create from your photos. Since we have had a consultation call prior to your session, we would have discussed about this already so I would have some idea about what kind of keepsakes and artworks you want. One of the homework I would have given you after your session is to send me photos of their rooms or walls so I can prepare some mock up images projecting your photos onto your rooms or walls so you can visualise what the artwork would look like. I work with you to create beautiful keepsakes and artworks that you will treasure forever. Some of my clients like to have a hero piece wall art and others loves the keepsake album as it contains 25+ images.

Once you've decided on the final products and place the order you'll receive an order confirmation outlining the products you ordered. I will then work on fully editing all the images you ordered including removing leads and other objects, additional enhancements and applying my editing style to your images. Once all the images are edited, I will send them through to my professional photo lab to print. If you ordered an album there will be an additional step in approving the album layout. Then all you need to do is relax and wait for these beautiful keepsakes to be produced.

When your products is ready, I will contact you to arrange pick up or I will deliver the products to your home.

This post is a part of the Pet Photographers blog circle I am in. This week we talk about what happens in that magical time between the session and product delivery and Jessica Wasik with Bark & Gold Photography shares the benefits of a post-session guide in enhancing the client experience. Continue to click the link at the end of each post in the blog circle until you eventually find your way back here.
