A session designed around your dog. Not the other way around.

Fine art pet photography in Canberra, for dogs exactly as they are. Anxious, bouncy, shy, or wonderfully themselves.

BOOK A CONSULTATION

The love you have for your dog is real, specific and enormous. It deserves to be on your wall.

Not in a phone camera roll or in the hard drive where you keep meaning to do something with.

On your wall, where you see it every day. Where your guests see it and ask about them. Where it’s just there, quietly saying: this is my family, and this is how much they matter.

You want something that captures your dog’s personality. The specific way they tilt their head. The look they give you that nobody else gets. The version of them that only you really know.

You want the experience itself to feel good. Relaxed, unhurried, maybe even fun. Something where your dog gets to be exactly who they are and somehow that’s enough.

And you want to hand all of it over to someone who gets it. Who understands what this dog means to you without you having to explain it. Who treats this as the important thing it is.

SEE HOW IT WORKS

Most people come to us not quite knowing what to expect.

They have questions. A lot of them. What actually happens at a consultation? What if my dog is too wriggly, too reactive, too hard to photograph? What will the photos actually look like? Will it feel worth it?

Those are completely reasonable things to wonder. Professional pet photography is not something most people have done before. The process is unfamiliar. The investment is real. And handing over that much trust to someone you have just met, for something this personal, takes a certain amount of courage.

The other thing people quietly wonder is whether their dog is actually going to cooperate.

Multiple hard-to-focus dogs. A wriggly puppy who would not sit still. A rescue who had never warmed up to a stranger. A senior dog in her final months who needed a completely different kind of pace.

These are not unusual dogs. These are most of the dogs I photograph.

What I can tell you is that every single client who has sat in my viewing lounge and seen their portraits for the first time has felt the same thing: relief, then joy, then something that looks a lot like gratitude.

Not because the photos were nice. Because they were right. Because they looked exactly like their dog.

That is what this experience is designed to give you. And it starts with a conversation where I answer every question you have.

"Ina has methodically stepped out the process, very professionally. We have had experience with other photographers including another pet photographer in Canberra who does not come close to Ina in the quality of her work or her emotional intelligence."

- ELOISE

"I cannot recommend Ina enough. She was so wonderful and patient with our senior doggo and so compassionate knowing that we were in the palliative stage for her. She definitely went the extra mile to make sure we had some beautiful memories of our special girl."

- CARLY

This is a full-service experience. From your very first conversation to the moment your artwork goes up on the wall.

Every part of it is guided, personalised, and designed around your dog specifically. Not a standard plan. Not a gallery link dropped in your inbox. Something built for them, and for your home.

I’ve photographed over 1,000 dogs over the past six plus years in Canberra. Dogs who were terrified of strangers. Dogs who couldn’t be off-lead anywhere. Dogs who’d never warmed up to someone outside their family. Every single one of them got photographed beautifully.

My three dogs, James, Rosie, and Pippa, all came to me with their own quirks and challenges. I understand difficult dogs because I live with them every day. There hasn’t been a dog I couldn’t work with yet.

Artwork made to live in your home. Not buried in a hard drive.

Every session ends with an in-person ordering appointment, where you’ll see your portraits for the first time on a large screen. Together we design exactly how your chosen images will look in your space.

This is where the session becomes something tangible. Something you walk past every day. Something that stops you for a moment, the way a great piece of artwork does.

Everything is printed by a professional Australian lab to archival standards, with a 30-year warranty. Every piece is designed specifically for your home. 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

WALL ART

The most popular choice, because it’s the one you see every day. Single statement pieces or gallery wall collections, in framed prints, metal, canvas, or acrylic. Your dog, large and beautiful, exactly where they belong.

KEEPSAKE PORTRAIT BOX

A handmade timber box, made locally in Canberra, holding 10 or 20 fine art matted prints of your favourite portraits. Open it on the coffee table. Display a print on an easel. Pull it out years from now and remember exactly how this felt. A consistent client favourite.

FINE ART ALBUM

A lay-flat album with an acrylic cover and your choice of linen or velvet fabric, opening to seamless double-page spreads of your session. Holds 20 images as standard, with the option to add more. The complete storytelling piece, and nearly every client who sees one in person wants one.

FINE ART MATTED PRINTS

Individual prints, beautifully matted, ready to frame or display as they are. A thoughtful way to start your collection, or the perfect gift for someone who loves your dog almost as much as you do.

Your Investment.

The session fee is $1,190, which includes $1,000 in print and artwork credit to use at your ordering appointment.

Most clients invest between $1,500 and $5,000 in their finished artwork, though some choose to spend more and some less. There is no minimum spend, and interest-free payment plans of up to nine months are available.

Every piece of artwork comes with a 100% satisfaction guarantee and a 30-year warranty. Matching digital files are included with print and artwork purchases.

At your consultation, I’ll show you physical samples of everything and walk you through exactly how it all works. You can decide from there, with no pressure and no obligation.

BOOK A CONSULTATION

Here is how it works.

Step 01

YOUR CONSULTATION

Before anything is booked, we sit down together. In person at my Jerrabomberra studio, or on Zoom. This is where I get to know your dog properly. Their personality, their triggers, their favourite things. Everything I need to design a session around them specifically. The consultation is complimentary and there’s no obligation.

Step 02

YOUR PLANNING CALL

Once you’re booked, we’ll have another Zoom call to finalise every detail. Location, timing, what to bring. If your dog has specific needs or sensitivities, this is where we make sure everything is right for them before we even start.

THE EXPERIENCE

Step 03

YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION

Your dog sets the pace. Sniffs, breaks, movement, it’s all part of it. Sessions take place outdoors across Canberra, at the Jerrabomberra studio, or in your home for cats. Leads are edited out completely in post-production.

Step 04

YOUR PORTRAIT REVEAL AND ARTWORK APPOINTMENT

One to two weeks after your session, you’ll come in for your ordering appointment. First time seeing your portraits on a large screen with a proper slideshow. Then we design together exactly how your images will look in your home. Something made to live in your space for decades.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE CAMERA

I started this business because of my heart dog Mac.

He was diagnosed with heart failure in 2017. The vet gave him six months. He fought for two years, and when he passed in 2019, his photos became the most important things I owned. My dog Mac was a bit funny with people. He had his own personality, his own quirks, and the connection between us was something I desperately wanted to capture properly. I had plenty of photos I'd taken of him myself, but almost none of the two of us together.

So I booked a studio session. White backdrop, posed, cold. Mac was shaking and panting the whole time. The photographer kept saying he was fine. I knew he wasn't. I know what Mac's anxiety looks like.

The photo shows his tongue out. People see it and say he looks happy. I know the truth.
That session wasn't us. It didn't look like him. It didn't look like what we had.

So I became the photographer I couldn't find. The one who actually reads the dog. Who slows down when they need it. Who knows the difference between a happy dog and an anxious one. Who designs the whole session around who your dog actually is, not who you need them to be for the camera.

Every session I do starts from that place.
