A 2024 Year in Review at Ina J Photography

Wow!! I cannot believe 2024 is coming to an end. This year felt like it has gone by so fast. As we wrap up another incredible year, I’m taking a moment to reflect on everything we’ve achieved together in 2024. From amazing and heartwarming pet photography sessions to exciting workshops, receiving awards and fundraisers, this year has been unforgettable. None of it would have been possible without your support, and for that, I’m deeply grateful.

Your Pets' Best Moments

Photographing your pets is always the heart of my year. Each photography session is different and have moments of connection, laughter, and love. I'm still pinching myself daily and just feel so grateful that I get to photograph pets for a living. It makes every day fulfilling and exciting. Whether it was in the studio or at beautiful spots around Canberra, photographing your pets made my job the best in the world.

Awards and Recognitions

This year, I continued my journey of entering photography competitions, earning recognition that I’m incredibly proud of. I was honoured to be a finalist in the Sony Alpha Awards and in the International Pet Photography Awards I received several accolades, including Silver and multiple Bronze awards, .

While these achievements are meaningful, my ultimate goal is to create images that my clients truly love and treasure. Awards are wonderful milestones, but my focus remains on continually improving my craft and capturing the heartfelt connections that matter most.

Sony Monthly Workshops

This year, I started running monthly Pet Photography Photo Walks in collaboration with Sony, and it has been such a rewarding experience! These walks are designed for anyone who loves capturing dogs on camera, whether you're a seasoned photographer or just starting out. It's a fun and relaxed way to learn how to photograph dogs more effectively, with plenty of tips, guidance, and adorable dog models to practice with.

I also introduced online webinars for pet photography enthusiasts and the attendance and feedback has been so amazing. A major highlight of the year was going to Melbourne and Sydney to run dog photography workshops. Meeting attendees face-to-face and sharing my passion in a hands-on environment was such an amazing experience.

Next year I am so excited to hold my first pet photography retreat in Bright, Victoria. I'll have several pet photographers attending and we will be immersed in pet photography throughout the 3 days of the retreat, working on the craft, editing and on the business.

Next year I will be holding more workshops and webinars as well as more mentoring opportunities. I am so excited for what's coming ahead!

Fundraisers That Made a Difference

Giving back to the community has always been a big part of Ina J Photography, and this year was no exception. Through projects like Tails of the World, the Canberra Paws Calendar and the RSPCA ACT fundraiser sessions, we raised over $12,000 for incredible organisations such as ACT Pet Crisis Support, Lucky Stars Sanctuary and RSPCA ACT. Seeing the community rally together to support these causes was truly inspiring. Your votes, donations, and participation in these events made a real impact on pets and families in need.

Thanks for an amazing year. Your support and enthusiasm have made everything we’ve achieved possible. I’m so grateful to have shared these moments with you. Capturing your pets, supporting great causes, and connecting with so many passionate people.

Here’s to 2025, a year where we continue to celebrate the unique stories and bonds you share with your pets. I look forward to creating more memories with you and supporting causes that make a difference.

With love and gratitude. - Ina
